Waking up at Lake Owego Camp as a Junior Camper, is unlike anything else. It starts with some crazy singing by your favorite Unit Leader and Head Counselor to help get you up. The next hour so can be a bit of a blur as you are still waking up from a great night of sleep. It\u2019s line-up at the flagpole, getting to hear the meals of the day, sports news and wondering whether or not you will have an intercamp game, a special clinic or maybe your bunk is going on an overnight later that day. You then head inside for breakfast, and what can be better than a massive bowl of cereal or French Toast with a little extra syrup to get your day started?<\/b> <\/p>\n

Wibit at the Lake<\/p><\/div>\n

After a quick clean-up and inspection in your bunk, it\u2019s time for your first and second choice periods of the day. First period you may decide to play some Ultimate Frisbee and second period you might head down to the wall to do some climbing. Third period is always a scheduled activity with your bunk. It could be the lake for canoeing, kayaking, or maybe today is a Wibit type of day. At the end of the third period, you head back to the bunk and play some ping pong and knock hockey in the Village before lunch. The whistle blows and you wait in anticipation for quesadillas! Make sure to pile on the guac!<\/b><\/p>\n

After lunch, you sprint back to your bunk, write a letter home, and relax before 4th period begins. Some days it\u2019s off to canteen for a special treat. The afternoon begins with fourth period choice, and you choose to go up to the HBC for basketball team practice. Fifth period is another activity with your bunk and today it may be tennis or arts & crafts. Finally, it\u2019s 6th period, the music is blasting, the counselors are waiting, and you make your way up to Robinson\u2019s Pool for rec swim. As the activity day comes to an end, you head back to your bunk, get showered, and there are a few letters from home waiting on your bed to read. Right before dinner, you do some chilling in the Village and then up to dinner. Steak sandwiches, fries and ice cream sandwiches for dessert, what a great dinner. You are disssssssssssssmissed and you head out for SFA. Tonight, you manage to squeeze in some fishing, then gaga, and some arts & crafts.<\/b><\/p>\n

Fox and Hound Evening Activity<\/p><\/div>\n

<\/b>Although you are pretty tired at this point, its evening activity and you get one final burst of energy for Air Raid or Fox and Hound. After a pretty awesome day at camp, it\u2019s time for bed. There\u2019s some flashlight time and as much as you are trying to keep your eyes open, you lose the battle, but the good news is, it\u2019s only a few more hours and you will be woken up for Polar Bears.<\/b><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
