{"id":644,"date":"2015-07-09T08:31:01","date_gmt":"2015-07-09T13:31:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lakeowego.com\/blog\/?p=644"},"modified":"2015-07-09T08:31:01","modified_gmt":"2015-07-09T13:31:01","slug":"freedos-fun-moments-week-1-2015","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.lakeowego.com\/blog\/freedos-fun-moments-week-1-2015","title":{"rendered":"Freedo&#8217;s Fun Moments; Week 1 2015"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.lakeowego.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC_0431.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignleft size-medium wp-image-647\" src=\"http:\/\/www.lakeowego.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC_0431-300x200.jpg\" alt=\"DSC_0431\" width=\"300\" height=\"200\" srcset=\"http:\/\/www.lakeowego.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC_0431-300x200.jpg 300w, http:\/\/www.lakeowego.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/07\/DSC_0431-1024x683.jpg 1024w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 300px) 100vw, 300px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p><strong><u>Freedo\u2019s Fun Moments of Week I<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>We had a fantastic start to camp.\u00a0 Not even the rain could dampen (no pun intended) the spirit and energy of the campers and staff.\u00a0 Top Moments of Week I:<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0The\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Staff show and the great performances.\u00a0 I particularly enjoyed getting egg on my face, losing the Director\u2019s Egg Challenge.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>The <\/strong><strong>July 4<sup>th<\/sup> festivities were awesome!\u00a0 \u00a0The day started with the dining hall being adorned with American flags and banners topped off with a breakfast of chocolate chip pancakes, eggs, fresh strawberries and blueberries, Krispy Cream donuts and cinnamon buns\u2026how\u00a0much more American can you get.\u00a0 In the morning campers played international games such as rugby, field hockey and cricket.\u00a0 In the afternoon, the international staff played the USA staff in the annual soccer and softball games.\u00a0 The internationals won soccer in penalty kicks and the USA for the 54<sup>th<\/sup> straight year won the softball game. July 4<sup>th<\/sup> culminated with a Fireworks extravaganza at Camp Timber Tops.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>The cheering and energy in the mess hall was off the charts.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><strong>The summer 2015 is\u00a0INCREDIBLE!\u00a0 Camp has an amazing vibe.
