Not Ready for Camp Yet?
Our Explorer Camp introduces children to the sleep-away camp experience, laying the groundwork for a great camping "career" and allowing participants to become active in the decision-making process.
If your child is entering 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th grade and is not yet ready for camp we encourage you to visit while camp is in session and try our Explorer Camp. Boys will have the opportunity to participate in camp activities with other prospective campers - the whole time being supervised by our excellent staff. While children are participating in Explorer Camp, parents can tour Lake Owego and meet with the directors.
Your child will meet new friends, sleep in a cabin, swim, canoe, play basketball and newcombe, do arts and crafts, master a ropes course, have a campfire with s'mores and more. Best of all, your Explorer camper will bring home happy memories and a new sense of adventure and independence. In the end we hope your future camper will be looking forward to the real thing next summer! Explorer Camp 2009 is scheduled for the weekends of July 11th, July 18th and August 1st. The program coincides with the regular camp season to give future campers the best opportunity to integrate into everyday camp life while enjoying the true spirit and excitement of Lake Owego Camp.

Fees:
$200 for the two day one night session
($100 will go towards next years tuition.)
