Shelly Silver has more than 30 years of experience in camping and has been Lake Owego Camp Director since 1988. He is the author of "The Smart Parent's Guide to Summer Camps" and a computer network guide to summer camps. An elementary school principal who coaches high-school basketball, volleyball, baseball and tennis, Shelly has been an educator for more than 35 years. He earned his bachelor's and master's degrees from Brooklyn College and a master's degree in administration from City College. He and his wife, Roberta, live in New Jersey and have two sons, Darin and Kyle (Lake Owego's Assistant Director).
Kyle Silver has been with Lake Owego for 16 years, serving as basketball counselor, unit leader, athletic director and now assistant director. He is in his sixth year as a teacher in North Haledon, New Jersey. A graduate of William Paterson University, Kyle received his teaching certification from Felician College and is pursuing a master's degree in administration and supervision. He coaches high-school basketball and soccer and lives in Wayne, New Jersey.
Andy Ruddick serves as a Lake Owego Camp assistant director and head counselor. A native of England, he attended North London University before transferring to Florida Atlantic University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in elementary education. Andy is an Owego alumnus who was a soccer counselor, junior/intermediate unit leader and junior/intermediate head counselor before becoming assistant director. He teaches third grade in Florida, where he lives with his wife, Missy Miller, a Camp Timber Tops director he met through camp. They are expecting their first child in November.
