We wanted to share this note with you from an alumni, written on the eve of the start of camp this past summer. He finished his camper days in 2013 and was unable to return for Summer 2014. He’ll return as a counselor soon enough, and we can’t wait!
To all the people lucky enough to go to LOC this summer: Appreciate it while you’re there because before you know it, your final Tent year will be over and you wont be able to spend your summers at the best place you know. Don’t sit in your bunk or tent all day, or miss a great experience like hiking or 100 miler, and don’t let camp go by without being in it as much as you can. It’s a rare place where everyone can be themselves and everyone can do whatever they want. Take it all in, not just Olympics or Frontier Week (which are great), but most importantly the regular camp day. Owego offers experiences that no place else can match. Campfires, 6th period pickup, rec swim, lineup, intercamps, 100 miler, socials, and anything else you can think of. You guys are so lucky, and I wish i was able to spend this whole summer at LOC with my bros. Have a great summer.
