Boys's Summer Camp Athletics Activities

Athletics

We are proud to have an outstanding athletics program where campers are exposed to group instruction in all athletic areas. All campers have an opportunity to participate in their favorite sports on a daily basis and develop skills through one-on-one coaching. At Lake Owego, campers grow as individuals while learning the value of a team. Every camper makes the team. Anyone who wants to play in a game will play in a game.

Outdoor Recreation Activities at Boys Sleepaway Camp

Outdoor Adventure

Lake Owego boys are exposed to the excitement and energy of the outdoors no matter what age they are. From learning the basics of putting on a harness to a 100 mile canoe trip on the Delaware River, it all happens at camp. Through 6th grade, all campers will go on an overnight trip to one of our private campsites, all 7th graders will go on a half-day canoe trip on the Delaware River, and our older campers have a wide variety of adventure trips to choose from.

Boys's Summer Camp Creative Arts Activities

Creative Arts

Whether it’s learning to rock out with a guitar, designing a tie-dye shirt, or taking pictures for the website, its all part of our awesome creative arts department. Our creative arts activities allow campers to tap into their creative sides and explore their imaginations. Lake Owego campers participate in camp shows as actors, set designers, and lighting specialists. Campers perform at campfires by playing instruments, singing and participating in bunk skits. Taking risks in a safe environment is what we’re all about.

Aquatics Water Activities at Summer Camp for Boys

Aquatics

What’s better than the cold water on a hot camp day? Well, there’s always taking the Polar Bear plunge for five days in a row at 5:00 AM in the lake, but then again, that’s not for everyone! Maybe it’s a synchronized swim class for evening activity or a luau with Camp Timber Tops for girls. There’s a lot happening in our Olympic sized, heated pool and on our private lake.

Our experienced, Red Cross certified waterfront staff provides the highest level of supervision and instruction at both the lake and the pool. Campers play in the water and learn to swim using American Red Cross techniques and standards. Every camper gets in the pool each day. Younger campers take formal swim instruction, while older boys have more choice in their aquatics schedule.
