What does your school do to celebrate Earth Day? At Lake Owego Camp, we push ourselves to think about the impact we have on our environment. Last summer we transitioned away from using paper products for meals and now use many reusable products. For many years, we have used a category during campsite judging in Frontier Week, “Environmental Impact.” During the summer we do our best to make sure lights are shut off when we aren’t in the bunks, reduce the number of plastic cups used during the day, and keep our campsite areas trash free. We always love to hear from our campers, so if you have any suggestions to help us become as environmentally friendly as possible, please share your ideas. Looking forward to a “green” summer!
