Lake Owego Camp is in full swing, and what an awesome start to the summer of 2016. July 4th was a blast, our 10th graders are out on the three day Grand Owegan, the 11th grade campers are entering the final days of their trip to Maui, Polar Bears is finishing up, Pike County Athletic tournaments are in full swing, the final rehearsals for our first session production of “Arnie”, an Owego original, based loosely on the show “Annie”, are taking place,  and YES, Olympics is right around the corner.

As Owego continues to grow, the spirit and brotherhood simply gets stronger. The energy in the dining hall and campfires is at an all time high. From our youngest campers in Boone along with all the first time campers, they are truly embracing what Lake Owego Camp is all about.

This past week, our boys have also had an opportunity to connect with our sister camp, Timber Tops. Siblings got together to see each other, and we also had a few socials for each age group. We are very fortunate to have such an unbelievable sister camp with outstanding leadership from their directors, Anna, Missy, and Andy. Each year, both camps work really hard to make sure that the time we spend together is memorable for the campers.

As a camp director, I am very fortunate to have an unbelievable staff, especially those that do so much of our behind the scenes work. The food has been as good as ever, our nurses have been taking wonderful care of all of our campers, Amanda and Stacie keep camp moving in the office, and of course, Melissa Jacoby Nathan makes sure that she captures your children in action throughout the day while doing many other creative things to help make Lake Owego Camp the best camp.
