As wonderful as it is to stay in touch with our friends with facebook and our phones, there is nothing is better than getting to see each other at the reunion. Having an opportunity to take a few hours out of our busy schedules to get together with our camp friends, helps bring us back to Lake Owego. It allows us to think about the calm camp days that are waiting for us this upcoming summer.
I just spent this past weekend visiting a few new families in Maryland and Philadelphia and I had a blast talking about camp and getting them excited about coming to Owego. I thought about how, this time next year, they will be getting ready for their 1st reunion.
The reunion gives me a chance to hang out with the campers, watch them reconnect with friends, and hear all about what’s going on with their lives at home and what they are looking forward to for this upcoming summer.
Don’t worry if you can’t make the reunion, keep in touch by sending me emails and let me know what you’ve been up to since camp ended (kyle@lakeowego.com). Believe it or not, I miss all of you and Greeley, just as much, if not more, than the campers do.
I look forward to seeing everyone at 10 AM on Sunday!
