It’s that time of year when ten months of waiting has been reduced to one. There are boys getting ready for their first summer at Lake Owego Camp and others on the verge of becoming Old Timers. Whether this will be your first or seventh summer, the feeling of nervous energy is starting to build. The nervousness is understood, as you anticipate that first night of sleeping away from home without realizing that you have just found your other home, your summer home. We promise another action-packed summer with many exciting moments and memories to come in Greeley, PA.
We have assembled an amazing group of staff from over 6 countries. We look forward to an especially tremendous tennis program led again by Fernando, who was named the Argentinian Captain of the national 12 and under team. We will welcome a record number of college student-athletes to our athletics staff. The action will not stop there as we continue to grow our adventure program. We have added on to the Wibit, we are bringing back sailing, and have a few other surprises on the lake.
We all know that food plays a big role at camp. Alfredo and crew are returning for another summer. Besides the outstanding food they prepare, Bill South is bringing back Picnic Grove breakfast with all the fixings. We are also adding another element to our lunches and in a few short weeks, you will get to experience the newest addition to the picnic grove.
This last part is for our oldest campers and returning staff that are fans of Lake Owego Olympics. After some debate and a long vetting process, we are adding an event to Olympics. This event will add energy to the final event and solidify the memories of one of our best activities at camp.
Enjoy your holiday weekend and get ready for what promises to be the best summer of your life.
