The campers awoke to rays of sunshine streaming through the bunk windows, and they just knew it was going to be a fantastic day at Owego! The morning started with laundry collection, as campers stuffed sheets, towels, socks and shorts into the colorful nylon bags assigned to each bunk. Clean laundry returns to camp on Thursday, which is when the real fun begins – sorting, folding, and replenishing cubbies!
Optional activities are underway at camp, with campers from all divisions participating in private tennis and golf lessons, as well as one-on-one fitness sessions, horseback riding at the Ranch, and our very popular TOP Cooks program. This afternoon, our TOP Cooks campers traveled to Timber Tops for a lesson on making crepes! If you’re interested in more information about our Optional Activities, please call the office!
New this summer and rapidly growing in popularity is our director Kyle’s BBQ choice period for Hi-Seniors. Earlier in the week, one group made juicy hamburgers. Today, a lucky handful of campers learned the finer points of grilled chicken. The best part for the campers? They got to taste the end result! Smiles and full bellies all around. The best part for you? You’ll have a new grill chef in the family when camp ends!

Today was a Canteen day, which is a favorite activity for all ages! Following yesterday’s letter-writing, the campers each turned in a letter for the privilege of picking out a few salty and sweet goodies from the camp Canteen. Expect those letters to appear in your mailboxes within the next few days!
