LOC is Rolling on the River

Our first river trip of the summer set out this morning from Sparrow Bush, NY, with 8th graders from LOC and CTT canoeing down the Delaware River. The clouds above were no match for the campers’ smiles!

Campers on the Delaware River

The morning skies offered up periodic drizzle, but all divisions managed to push through and maintain a regular schedule. In the afternoon, the sun made a glorious appearance and bathed camp in much-appreciated light and warmth. Campers were spotted fishing and swimming at the lake, climbing on the ropes course, and throwing frisbees on the Lower Field. Rec. swim brought all ages together, with campers laughing, splashing, and showing off their best cannonballs. The summer vibe was in full swing!

By the time Evening Activity rolled around, the rain returned and our stellar staff pivoted beautifully as only they can with some fantastic indoor options. The Juniors played a game called “Rainy Day Madness,” involving a variety of fun competitions like Mummy Wrap, racing with a golf ball on a spoon, and LeapFrog. The Seniors and Hi-Seniors played a heated game of “Family Feud.” Each bunk tried to guess the top responses to categories such as “Name Something a Snowman Might Have Nightmares About” and “Name Something You Might Find at a Breakfast Buffet.” At Owego, our campers find the fun in everything they do – even when they’re indoors!
