Though the rain came down in buckets at times throughout the day, the rain boots and jackets came out and the action didn’t stop. Juniors spent the morning moving between various “indoor choice” activities, which included mat ball, rocketry, fitness, and board games. Some campers chose “quiet reading,” which evoked the good old days of Bunk-O. Seniors and Hi-Seniors stayed dry and active with their own indoor choice periods, such as cooking, Spikeball/KanJam, and arts & crafts. The rain didn’t stand a chance against the campers’ spirits and sense of excitement!
Evening activity for the Junior division was “Movie Madness,” where bunks perform a movie of their choice and are judged in categories like Bunk Participation and Creativity. Seniors and Hi-Seniors played “The Counselor Game.” The goal: To learn as much as you can about your counselors. The challenge: To match your bunk’s answers with the counselor’s answers, a la “The Newlywed Game.” The outcome: Our oldest campers discovered more about their counselors’ interests, personality traits, and distinguishing features – strengthening the Owego bonds that tie us together!
